Accessing the NC Business Court

New Attorneys: If you have not previously had a case at the North Carolina Business Court,
you will need to apply for access.
1) From the North Carolina Business Court homepage,
www.ncbusinesscourt.net , click on
the Attorney Access link on the left navigation menu.
2) Click on the 'Apply for Access' link under the login button.
3) Follow the directions on the page and fill in all fields.
4) Enter the five digit access code in the space provided. You
should enter the access code from the pictures that are displayed.
5) Click the 'Submit' button.
6) You will see a confirmation screen that your application has been
submitted to the Business Court.

After the application has been submitted, please call or email Dave Moore
(336-334-5252,
William.D.Moore@ncbusinesscourt.net) to add your name to the appropriate case.
Existing Attorneys:
If you have forgotten
or do not know your password or if have previously been registered to e-file in a case in the Business
Court, you will need to use the Forgot Password link to gain access to the
Attorney Access System.
1) From the North Carolina Business Court homepage,
www.ncbusinesscourt.net , click on
the 'Attorney Access' link on the left navigation menu.
2) Click on the 'Forgot Password' link under the login button.
3) Enter your email address and Bar number.
4) Click the 'Submit' button.
5) You will be returned to the login screen. You should check your
email and use the new password to log-in.

1) From the North Carolina Business Court homepage,
www.ncbusinesscourt.net , click on
the 'Attorney Access' link on the left navigation menu.
2) Enter your Email Address, Bar number, and Password and click the 'Log in'
button.

3) After you have successfully logged in, you will see the Account Information
screen. If you need to make any changes to your account information,
including your password, please select the 'Edit Account' button on the left.

4) To access your cases, please click on the 'Case Information' button on
the left.
5) To access a particular case, please click on the 'Case Number' hyperlink.
This will make the Case Details Button become active.
The following picture shows an inactive 'Case Details'
button.

Once the 'Case Number' hyperlink (in this example you would click on TESTCASE) has
been selected, the 'Case Detail' button becomes active and the case information
is displayed at the top of the screen.

6) Click on the 'Case Details' button to access the detailed
information for the case you have selected. The Case Detail Information
page will appear. displaying all of the parties in the case as well as contact
information for all attorneys.
Please notice that the E-File button is inactive.

7) If you click on your name, the 'E-File' button will become active.

8) Clicking on the 'Efile' button will allow you to electronically file
documents with the North Carolina Business Court. Please read the
instructions and either Accept or Decline the rules. You will not be able
to E-File if you decline the rules.
9) Follow the Instructions that are on the page and complete all three (3)
steps. Click the 'Continue' button to continue with your Filing.

10) Click the 'Browse' button to locate the file that you wish to
e-File. This file should be saved on your local computer and not in a
Document Management System. Click the 'Submit File' button to upload the
file. You will notice that the name of the file is moved to the bottom of
the screen into the Uploaded files box. If you need to attach more than one
(1) document, simply Browse to find another file and then click the 'Submit'
button. When you have uploaded all of the electronic files that you want
to Efile, click on the 'Finished' button

11) This is the E-File Confirmation screen that informs you that your
electronic filing has been successfully completed. It is a coversheet that
includes the filing information that you selected along with a list of the electronic files
that were attached.

12) Clicking on the 'Continue' button will take you to a list of all filings that have
occurred in the case. You can Download a specific filing by clicking
on the 'Download' hyperlink next to the name of the filing.
You can also access the filings in the case by clicking on
the 'Filings for this Case' button on the Case Detail screen (step 7).
